  • Special registration for pre-service education students and teachers with 0-4 years of experience. Email sjhayes8@gmail.com for registration code. For pre-service, include your university and name of your education professor. For early career teachers, include your starting year and the name of a literacy colleague.

Registration is closed

Please bring a laptop or tablet with you to the workshop.  All of the handouts will be available digitally.  Additionally, you may want access to your teaching materials during the hands-on segments of the workshop.


Jim will assist teachers in examining their texts, assignments and materials through an analytical framework that focuses on the cognitive demands, alignment to standards, and degree to which students engage with the texts they read.

To fully participate in this interactive workshop, you are encouraged to bring your laptops or tablets as well as copies of reading response handouts, assignments, or activities you use with your students. Workshop site includes FREE wireless.  

Registration includes MCTE membership, continental breakfast, and lunch. All registrations must be made through this site.  You may pay by credit card or by sending a check.

Shortly after the invoice, you will receive a confirmation email.

If you are paying by school or personal check, your confirmation email will include instructions for mailing.
