Diverse Books Reading Group Monday, June 26, 2023 7 pm to 8 pm CST (Zoom) June 26: Join the MCTE Board for a conversation about the graphic novel memoir The Best We Could Do by Thi Bui; the graphic novel The Magic Fish by Trung Le Nguyen; and the picture book A Different Pond written by Bao Phi and illustrated by Thi Bui. CEUs will be available for participants. About the Reading Group This group was created to explore books written by authors of diverse backgrounds in order to promote their use in the classroom. Discussions will include responses to the books and connections to standards, students, our shared history, and current times. Come with the books read, questions to ask, connections, and any ideas or expertise that you are willing to share. The discussion is free, but you need to provide your own books.
